Deddens\u00a0<\/strong>serves as the Prosecuting Attorney for Dearborn and Ohio Counties. Lynn is the only Prosecutor in the State to have two counties in her jurisdiction.<\/p><p>Lynn was appointed to the position on January 6, 2017 and was elected on November 6, 2018.\u00a0 Prosecutor Deddens grew up in Dearborn County and graduated from Northern Kentucky University and Valparaiso University School of Law.\u00a0 Prior to becoming the Prosecuting Attorney, she served as a Deputy Prosecutor since 2003.<\/p><p>Prosecutor Deddens is active in the community.\u00a0 She is a board member for the Children&#8217;s Advocacy Center of Southeastern Indiana,\u00a0Indiana\u00a0Prosecting Attorney&#8217;s Council, United Way, and the Dearborn Adult Center.\u00a0 She is also the past President of the Dearborn and Ohio Counties Bar Association, member of the Bright Lion\u2019s Club, member of Tri-Kappa Sorority, 2017 Women of\u00a0Distinction\u00a0recipient, member of Women Armed and Ready,\u00a0Past Chairwoman of the Dearborn County Republican Party and is a parishioner of All Saints Catholic Church.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6a8c388 e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"6a8c388\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-72f8e61 e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"72f8e61\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-fe823c5 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"fe823c5\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>In addition, the Dearborn-Ohio Counties Prosecutor&#8217;s Office is one of the few offices in the State of Indiana to have a therapy support dog as part of the office.\u00a0\u00a0In August of 2020, the office introduced Bailey, a certified therapy goldendoodle, to assist victims of crime during some of their most challenging moments. Bailey&#8217;s presence has proven invaluable, particularly for children and the elderly, by offering comfort and reducing anxiety during interviews and court proceedings. Numerous studies support the effectiveness of therapy animals in helping individuals feel more at ease in stressful environments.<\/p><p>Bailey was personally purchased and trained at Lynn&#8217;s own expense, without the use of taxpayer funds.
